Cactus is a native plant of Central and South America, and it was quite surprisingly to find it in Eastern Australia.
Cactus pads feature moderate amounts of vitamin A and vitamin-C. They can be eaten raw in salads, soups, stews, juices, and cooked as a vegetable.
Nopals are thick, oval, flat, modified stems of cactus plant, eaten as a vegetable. They are very low in calories. The juice extracted has immune booster and anti inflammatory properties.
